2006: APRIL PROGRAM"REMEMBER RAINIER" Campaign What do you do when the only thing the public likes about your brand is its past? You ask people to Remember. Cole & Weber United did just that with a campaign for Rainier Beer that integrated an 11-episode, 30-minute TV show ("Rainier Vision"), live-action theatre, a website, and a Seattle landmark. They included traditional media: four 30-second spots, weekly newsletters, and a press kit that helped frame a news story so incredible it couldn't have been scripted. Cole & Weber's campaign for Rainier beer earned the agency a Gold Clio as well as Best-in-Show Gold at the National Addy Awards, a Gold in the Art Director's Club of New York, Brandweek Magazine's "Guerilla Marketer of the Year" and two Yahoo! Big Idea Chair Awards. Jim's creative career began at age 14 when he bought his first Super-8 camera and launched into production of numerous low-budget movie projects ranging from Playdough animation shorts to backyard war documentaries. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from University of Pennsylvania, attended the Portfolio Center in Atlanta, then began his advertising career at Mullen Advertising, Boston. There he helped build brands for Timberland clothing, Stanley Tools, J & B Scotch, BMW, the Sci-Fi channel, and the Outdoor Life Network. Four years later he joined Cole & Weber in Seattle, where for the past seven he has helped produce award-winning print and television campaigns for numerous brands including Nike, ACLU, Venge Wines, the Science Fiction Museum, and Woodland Park Zoo.
