Greening Business

or "What I have done to minimize my company's environmental footprint."

by Rich Lancaster, President of Printing Control Graphics

Rich Lancaster has spent the past 4 years in the printing industry, firstly as VP of Business Development and for the past 2 years as President, of Printing Control - a Seattle-based distinctive commercial printer. In his time with Printing Control Rich has engineered a dramatic turn-around in the company, leading it from a large loss in 2003, to breakeven in 2005 and now to industry-leading operating margins in 2007.

Prior to his sojourn in the printing industry Rich was the Chairman and CEO of CobWeb, Inc. one of the first Internet start-ups in the world, opening it's doors in 1994, and finally closing them in 2002 after the dot.bomb bust. During his 8 years with CobWeb Rich raised $5 million in angel and venture funding and performed all kinds of "firsts" in the online world. As a recognized local hi-tech guru he wrote a monthly column for the Puget Sound Business Journal, sat on the board of the MIT Enterprise Forum and lectured at the local business schools.

His past career hops have included Director of Marketing at Nextel Communications at start-up, Major Account Management for Digital Systems/Avaya, Account Manager for InfoLink (London), and Sales Rep for Dun and Bradstreet (Melbourne, Australia and Birmingham, England).

Rich is well-traveled, loves to read, write and coach youth soccer - he is a licensed coach at the Issaquah Soccer Club. Rich dropped out of a small liberal arts college in Nottingham, England to travel the world and never returned to college.
